Special Operations Undead Response, Containment, and Eradication

Respond. Contain. Eradicate.

Origin

S.O.U.R.C.E. was founded in 2030 by A.R.C., after the first major Biozone revealed a threat too dangerous for conventional forces and too unstable for public containment. Built from elite operators, scientists, engineers, intelligence specialists, medical personnel, drone warfare veterans, and containment teams across the surviving allied defense structure, S.O.U.R.C.E. was created to enter infected blackout zones, recover critical intelligence, control the spread, and eradicate every V.E.C.T.O.R threat before the world understood what had happened.

By 2032, it had grown beyond its original command structure. There was no coup. There was no rebellion. There was legal restructuring. A.R.C. reclassified S.O.U.R.C.E. as a contracted strategic containment partner — publicly, for liability reduction. Privately, because A.R.C. needed S.O.U.R.C.E. to do things A.R.C. could not admit needed doing.

The public-facing name is S.O.U.R.C.E. Global Containment Solutions. The work is not corporate.

The Divisions

S.O.U.R.C.E. is built around three arms. Each solves a different part of the Biozone problem.

Operations Division

Kills the threat. Black armored teams. Unmarked aircraft. Sealed helmets. Yellow hazard strobes. Skull-marked patches. Containment raids, survivor extraction, sample recovery, blacksite assault, and full V.E.C.T.O.R eradication.

Research Division

Understands the threat. Infected tissue, strain variants, mutation behavior, aggression cycles, retained cognition cases. Every preserved sample is a risk. Operators want everything burned. Researchers want enough preserved to understand the enemy. Both sides are right.

Control Division

Contains the truth.

The Operators

S.O.U.R.C.E. operators are not standard soldiers. They are containment operators trained for impossible environments — low visibility, biological contamination, signal blackout, structural collapse, and combat where the enemy may already be dead. They train against live V.E.C.T.O.R specimens in controlled facilities.

Branch matters less than control. Selection asks harder questions than marksmanship: Can they stay calm when surrounded? Can they follow protocol after seeing impossible things? Can they close a door on people who cannot be saved? Can they keep moving when the mission stops feeling human?

S.O.U.R.C.E. selection is built to find people who can make decisions in the dark.

Doctrine

Respond. When a zone goes dark, speed matters more than politics. Once inside a Biozone, command authority becomes simple: S.O.U.R.C.E. controls the operation.

Contain. An outbreak must be isolated before it can be destroyed. Lock the facility. Seal the routes. Jam the drones. Close the escape corridors. Containment is the difference between a recoverable incident and a regional collapse.

Eradicate. No loose ends. No uncontrolled subjects. No contaminated site left active.

S.O.U.R.C.E. does not win by surviving the night. S.O.U.R.C.E. wins when the zone is silent.

The Last Line — 2056

Today, S.O.U.R.C.E. operates globally as the dominant V.E.C.T.O.R eradication force on Earth. It still contracts with A.R.C., but it no longer fully belongs to A.R.C. Foreign governments call it an American death company. E.C.H.O. propaganda calls it a mercenary tool. Neither claim is completely false. By 2056, S.O.U.R.C.E. is larger than its origin — too useful to ban, too dangerous to trust.

It is powerful, but not clean. Operators question whether they are stopping disasters or hiding them. And the central tension never resolves: S.O.U.R.C.E. fights monsters — but it also profits from a world where monsters keep appearing.

They are not a rescue team. They are not a cleanup crew. They are the last line between humanity and extinction.
